What’s behind the reeds?
Growing up first-generation to Greek parents on the Jersey Shore, Nicolas Evgeniou (b. 2003) works to honor the spirit and magic embodied on both of these beaches. Always material-first, he uses collection, handcraft, levity, and sustainability as tools to guide him through the completion of a project. His current artwork aims to capture the essence of his seaside upbringing, embracing the sand that’s left in shoes at the end of the day.
Nic received his BFA in Integrated Design with a focus on anthropology and material communication from Parsons School of Design in New York.
